Amphenol Communications Solutions in San Diego seeks a Staff Power Systems Architect to bridge customer needs and internal engineering. You will lead power-architecture programs, translate system requirements into connector and cable solutions, and help shape multi-year roadmaps with cross-functional teams.

You will act as the senior technical liaison to hyperscalers and OEM partners, own the technical strategy, mentor engineers, and represent the company in industry standards bodies to stay

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years of experience in power connector, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Master’s degree with >8 years of experience in power connector, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Deep expertise in high‑voltage/high‑current power architecture for data center, industrial, or similar infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience owning strategic technical relationships at a senior or principal engineering level.
• Executive‑level written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsabilités

• Set the strategy for technical requirements‑gathering and strengthening the relationship with customer engineering teams for power architecture requirements.
• Lead the translation of complex, often ambiguous system‑level power architectures into connector and cable technology requirements to define product development.
• Act as the senior technical spokesperson for power architecture discussions at customer leadership level, presenting solution strategy and long‑term roadmap alignment.
• Shape multi‑year connector/cable roadmap and investment decisions in response to anticipated shifts in customer power architecture.
• Define the specification frameworks and technical documentation standards used across teams for new product development and design‑in.
• Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex qualification, validation, and design‑in challenges.
• Represent the organization in industry standards bodies and consortia (e.g., OCP) that shape power delivery and interconnect direction.
• Provide strategic customer and market insight that directly shapes long‑range roadmap and new product development planning.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the technical team.
• Identify long‑term architecture shifts and translate them into product roadmap and investment recommendations.
