Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Staff Power Systems Architect to bridge customer engineering teams and internal product engineering. You will lead technical discussions, define architectures, and translate system needs into connector and cable solutions for data-center and industrial applications.

The role requires travel domestically and internationally, with a focus on shaping long-term roadmaps, mentoring engineers, and representing the company

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10–12 years of experience in power connector, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Deep expertise in high-voltage/high-current power architecture for data center, industrial, or similar infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience owning strategic technical relationships at a senior or principal engineering level.
• Experience representing a company within industry standards organizations.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy for technical requirements gathering and strengthen relationships with customer engineering teams for power architecture needs.
• Translate complex system-level power architectures into connector and cable technology requirements to define product development.
• Act as the senior technical spokesperson for power-architecture discussions at customer leadership level.
• Shape multi-year connector/cable roadmap and investment decisions in response to anticipated shifts in customer power architecture.
• Define specification frameworks and technical documentation standards used across teams for new product development and design-in.
• Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex qualification, validation, and design-in challenges.
• Represent the organization in industry standards bodies and consortia (e.g., OCP).
• Provide strategic customer and market insight that shapes long-range roadmap and new product development planning.
