Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. You will direct technical planning, engage with clients, and drive project execution across major utility and developer projects.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience with PSCAD and PSS/E, and a track record of managing complex studies with regulatory awareness. Travel up to 20% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Proven experience leading power system planning and studies for North American markets (MISO, PJM, NY-ISO, etc.).
• PE license is required; PhD is strongly preferred for advanced roles.
• Proficiency with PSCAD and PSS/E for load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability.
• Experience with HVDC and interconnection studies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the System Planning & Studies team for Power Delivery & Renewables.
• Perform and oversee load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability analyses and interconnection studies.
• Develop enhanced planning processes, methodologies, and tools for quality and efficiency.
• Act as Project/Proposal/Program Manager and technical lead to support growth in North America.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface with clients, contractors and vendors.
