Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team in North America. This senior role combines project leadership, client engagement, and hands-on power system studies to deliver compliant, innovative solutions.

You will coordinate the System Planning and Studies team, conduct load-flow, short‑circuit and transient stability analyses, and guide proposals, programs, and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 12 years in Power System Planning and Studies.
• Experience with US market operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP).
• Proficiency with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiarity with PSLF, DigSILENT or DSA Tools.
• PE License certification required.
• Ph.D. in Power Systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate System Planning & Studies team; ensure resource planning and QA/QC.
• Perform and coordinate HVAC and HVDC power systems analysis (load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability).
• Develop enhanced planning processes, methodologies and tools for quality and efficiency.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager and Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior engineers; participate in client meetings and vendor coordination.
