Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group seeks a General Superintendent – Power to provide field leadership for natural gas and thermal power generation projects, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery across all construction phases.

This senior role develops project plans, directs field operations, manages subcontractors, and coordinates with owners, OEMs, engineering partners, and commissioning teams to ensure schedule, budget, and performance goals are met while mentoring field staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of construction experience.
• 10+ years of field supervision experience.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects.
• Proven track record managing major power generation projects.
• Experience coordinating startup and commissioning activities for complex mechanical/electrical systems.
• Experience with large-scale rigging operations, heavy mechanical installations, and high-energy systems.
• Experience implementing advanced safety protocols specific to power-plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of safety culture and ensure injury-free environment.
• Coordinate project information with owners, design team, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
• Manage project documentation, drawings, logs, diaries and inspection notebooks.
• Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and cost changes; approve unit costs and daily reports.
• Direct field operations, manage subcontractors and vendor relationships.
• Develop project pre-plans and staffing; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate startup, commissioning activities, turnover packages, and system walk-downs.
• Recruit and develop top field talent and promote diversity and inclusion.
