Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group seeks a General Superintendent – Power to lead field operations on natural gas and thermal power projects. You will guide sequencing, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across all phases of construction.

You will mentor field teams, coordinate with owners and engineers, and drive lean, cost-conscious performance while upholding company values and safety standards on large power-generation programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 12+ years construction experience.
• 10+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects (Preferred).
• Proven track record managing major power generation projects from pursuit through closeout (preferred).
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury‑free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
• Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and other departments.
• Follows the project filing and documentation organization system as dictated for the project.
• Approves and/or records unit cost information for weekly reports and completes daily reports, logs and tracking reports.
• Evaluates progress on self‑perform work and make adjustments as needed.
• Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
• Supports procurement and approval processes.
• Assists in the selection of formwork, tools and equipment necessary for self‑perform operations.
• Manages timecard approval process to ensure accurate hours and cost codes.
• Ensures quality compliance through QA/QC processes.
• Supports project closeouts by supervising pre‑punch activities and coordinating with owner, architect and authorities.
• Gains understanding of the project pursuit process and methodology.
• Leads field staffing for assigned project.
