Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Generation Project Manager to lead multi-discipline teams in delivering traditional and renewable generation projects in industrial, data center, and utility sectors. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships from pre-positioning through project completion.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in power project management, a PE license, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 7 years related experience with at least 2 years in project management.
• Professional engineering license (PE) required or reciprocity.
• MS Office and MS Project proficiency required.
• Demonstrated leadership and active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, manage schedule + budget, coordinate with engineering disciplines, monitoring and communication of project status, and provide engineering support for detailed design, and Owner’s Engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level.
• Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
• Develop the project work plan for the execution of the project.
• Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals. Identify and process scope changes.
• Maintain regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
• Develop and maintain client relations.
• Perform marketing, business development, and consulting activities with existing and new clients.
• Act as proposal manager and assist in the proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
• Implement quality control checks per established procedures (e.g., organize and lead routine design reviews and internal quality assurance reviews).
• Conduct negotiations to obtain the client’s approval and perform the contract administration of the change order.
• Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
• Routinely report project progress to the Business Group Manager and Operations leaders.
• Perform other duties as needed
