Job summary

HDR is a leading engineering firm delivering power generation projects for utilities, data centers and industrial clients. You will join a multi‑discipline team shaping transmission, generation and energy storage solutions.

As a Power Generation Project Manager, you will lead project teams, manage schedules and budgets, maintain client relations, and guide proposals and risk reviews from pre‑positioning through project completion. A PE license and engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7+ years of related experience with at least 2 years in PM.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• MS Office and MS Project experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, manage schedule + budget, coordinate with engineering disciplines, monitoring and communication of project status, and provide engineering support for detailed design, and Owner’s Engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level.
• Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
• Develop the project work plan for the execution of the project.
• Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals. Identify and process scope changes.
• Maintain regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
• Develop and maintain client relations.
• Perform marketing, business development, and consulting activities with existing and new clients.
• Act as proposal manager and assist in the proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
• Implement quality control checks per established procedures.
• Conduct negotiations to obtain the client’s approval and perform the contract administration of the change order.
• Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
• Routinely report project progress to the Business Group Manager and Operations leaders.
• Perform other duties as needed
