Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Principal Power Design Engineer to lead power-conversion circuit design and analysis for defense-grade systems. The role emphasizes hands-on design, thermal considerations, and collaboration with ECAD and other engineering teams on challenging projects.

The successful candidate will bring 10+ years in analog and power electronics, proficiency with PCB layout tools, and a track record of delivering complex power architectures compliant with military specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Technology/Engineering or Math (STEM) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with linear converters and non-isolated topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost).
• Analog electronics design and testing with FET/BJT/Op-amp circuits.
• Strong ECAD guidance through PWB layout and technical drawing creation.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze (including thermal), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry.
• Guide ECAD personnel through PWB layout and drawing creation.
• Work within schedule milestones and present technical reviews to leadership.
• Engage in cross-team collaboration for EMI, thermal, and power architecture.
