Job summary

Management Performance Associates seeks a Senior Project Manager for industrial EPC projects, onsite in Houston with 70% travel. Lead electrical or mechanical construction from preconstruction to closeout and coordinate clients, executives, field teams, and subcontractors.

You will drive project performance, safety, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management while mentoring project managers and engineers. PMP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, industrial, utility, or EPC construction, including at least 5 years managing complex, large-scale construction projects with significant financial and operational responsibility.
• Demonstrated success leading multimillion-dollar electrical or mechanical construction projects, preferably within data centers, cryptocurrency mining facilities, oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, power generation, industrial plants, or other large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical or mechanical construction disciplines.
• Advanced understanding of construction contracts, project financial management, estimating, scheduling, procurement, change order management, risk mitigation, and cost forecasting.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractor relationships, negotiate with clients, and communicate effectively with executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for the successful execution of large-scale electrical, mechanical, or industrial construction projects, overseeing all phases from preconstruction and budgeting through project closeout.
• Manage project financial performance, including budgets, cost forecasting, cash flow, profitability, change management, and financial reporting, while proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Direct and coordinate project teams, superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project objectives, resource requirements, schedules, and contractual obligations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, general contractors, and key stakeholders, serving as primary point of contact for project performance, contract negotiations, issue resolution, and strategic planning.
• Oversee project scheduling, procurement, labor productivity, material management, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency and ensure successful execution of complex construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, applicable electrical or mechanical construction codes, quality requirements, and contractual specifications while promoting a proactive safety culture across all project sites.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to project managers, project engineers, and field leadership while collaborating with executive management to identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and continued business growth.
