Job summary

IPS is seeking a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Blue Bell, PA, or our Cherry Hill, Somerset, or Germantown offices. You will lead design efforts for life sciences facilities and mentor junior staff.

You will drive project leadership across all phases, develop scopes, coordinate with clients, and produce drawings, calculations, and specifications while ensuring code compliance and quality at every step.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years in engineering/design for building systems (plumbing & fire protection).
• BS in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited college.
• AutoCAD and Revit expertise with strong codes knowledge.
• Experience with plumbing/fire protection calculation software.
• 2-4 years supervising engineers and designers on projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all design phases from feasibility to documentation.
• Break down projects into tasks with scope, budget, and staffing.
• Write scope of work and develop design studies/schematics.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and support construction.
• Coordinate with clients and other design professionals.
• Mentor Designers and Engineers early in their careers.
• Review plumbing and fire protection layouts, sizing, and calculations.
