Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Lead Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at one of our eastern U.S. offices (MA, PA, NJ, MD, or NC). You will lead plumbing and fire protection design efforts for life sciences facilities and coordinate with project managers and clients.

Required: 10–12 years of engineering/design experience, BS in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and a PE is preferred. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of engineering/design experience in building design.
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection system design concepts and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing and fire protection design on life sciences projects.
• Mentor designers and engineers on project execution.
• Coordinate scope, budget, and staffing with project managers.
• Prepare and review drawings, reports, and design calculations.
• Ensure code compliance and effective client communication.
