Job summary
IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Lead Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to join our team across eastern U.S. offices. You will lead project design for life sciences facilities, oversee the plumbing and fire protection design layouts, and coordinate with PMs and clients.You will mentor engineers, develop scopes of work, and review calculations and drawings. The role requires 10–12 years of experience, CAD/BIM proficiency, and ability to travel 5–20% to client sites.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering.
PE licensure preferred.
Experience with plumbing and fire protection calculations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
10–12 years in building design industry.
Responsibilities
Lead projects through all design phases and report to PM or Group Lead.
Mentor junior designers and engineers on project execution.
Develop scopes of work, budgets, and staffing with project managers.
Prepare design drawings, reports, and construction support.
Coordinate with clients and other design professionals; travel as needed.
