Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Engineering Leader to drive multi-cloud platform strategy, DevOps, and internal platforms. You will lead a high-performing team of engineers, shape AI-enabled solutions, ensure reliability, and optimize costs across the software lifecycle.

The Lead Director will prioritize, communicate clearly, and accelerate delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, partnering with Architecture, product teams, and PMO.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large software engineering programs.
• 8+ years leading teams in a matrix organization.
• 4+ years partnering with architecture, product and PMO teams to influence product development.
• 4+ years of experience leading discovery sessions, workshops, demos, onboarding sessions, and enablement activities.
• 2+ years in a leadership role coordinating across software cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years influencing stakeholders, manage vendor/budget relationships, and translate complex technical strategies for business units.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring resources and supporting knowledge transfer across teams.
• 2+ years of experience working under limited direction and leading complex initiatives across multiple teams and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Platform Strategy & Delivery: Define and drive the Platform strategy and delivery working with Architecture, Technical Product owners and AppDev teams across the portfolios.
• Platform Engineering & Developer Experience: Build and scale internal platforms (IPs), golden paths, and self-service tools to lower developer cognitive load and developer experience.
• DevOps & Automation Leadership: Scale CI/CD pipelines, IaC, GitOps workflows, and DevSecOps practices to embed security and observability into delivery pipelines.
• Solution Engineering & Integration: Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to design scalable, cost-effective technical solutions and enterprise integrations.
• Team & Budget Management: Mentor and lead cross-functional teams of Engineers, DevOps, SRE; manage cloud spend budgets and vendor negotiations.
• Metrics & Governance: Track engineering productivity and reliability metrics while managing cloud costs and compliance.
• Emerging Technology Integration: Evaluate, build and integrate AI/ML tools and cloud-native services into the Platform and software lifecycle.
