Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Able to read and extend Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, and SQL.
• Understand distributed systems, API/event patterns, and failure handling.
• Hands-on observability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerts.
• Experience on cloud infra (Azure or equivalent) with containers/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Strong communication to explain systems to engineers and non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Stack Maintenance — maintain and support services across the full platform; build and keep current a working knowledge of each component and how they integrate.
• Reliability Engineering — Monitor platform health, investigate production issues, and resolve bottlenecks, failures, and scaling constraints.
• Feature Implementation — Design and ship focused features, enhancements, and technical improvements across platform components, favoring clarity and maintainability.
• Observability — Extend logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting so the team has clear visibility into what the system is doing in production.
• Performance and scale — Profile and tune components under load; help the platform scale reliably as member volume and data throughput grow.
• Quality — Write tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards so changes ship production-ready.
• Incident response — Participate in the on-call rotation, lead root-cause analysis, and turn incidents into durable fixes and preventative improvements.
• Collaboration — Work with the delivery pods and Decision Intelligence to understand new components and smoothly take on their long-term ownership.
