Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to set technical direction for our platform, owning architecture for cross-org infrastructure initiatives and serving as the single-threaded owner for critical programs that span multiple teams.

The role combines deep hands-on work with org-wide influence, shaping patterns, tooling, and governance while mentoring engineers and driving multi-region resilience and cost-aware migrations across services.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in Platform, Infra, DevOps, or SRE with cross-team ownership
• Production-grade Kubernetes/EKS experience at scale
• Istio service mesh experience
• IaC at scale (Terraform or similar)
• Leads complex multi-quarter programs from architecture to execution
• Experience debugging distributed systems and incident response

Responsibilities

• Own group-critical platform initiatives across multi-quarter cross-org programs
• Set architectural direction and create shared platform primitives
• Lead hands-on technical work, including debugging production incidents
• Coordinate cross-team rollouts and manage blockers across units
• Own testing infrastructure strategy end-to-end across environments
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers to raise technical standards
