Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to set technical direction for our platform. You will own architecture for cross-org infrastructure initiatives and be the reference for design decisions across teams.

You’ll drive Istio-based service mesh rollout, multi-region resilience, and AI-powered catalog tooling while remaining hands-on in critical code paths and tooling. You will mentor staff engineers and shape long-term platform patterns with broad organizational impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in Platform, Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE with cross-team ownership.
• Deep Kubernetes/EKS, Istio service mesh, and IaC (Terraform) at meaningful scale.
• Experience mentoring Staff engineers and shaping how a broader org approaches system design, not just your team.
• Proven ability to lead multi-quarter, cross-org programs such as service mesh rollouts and multi-region resilience.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture for cross-org infrastructure initiatives.
• Lead Istio mesh rollout and multi-region resilience work.
• Mentor senior engineers and set platform patterns across teams.
• Debug production incidents in distributed, multi-hop systems and drive incident response excellence.
