Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to set technical direction for our platform and own cross-org infrastructure initiatives. This is the most senior IC on the team, guiding architecture, tooling, and patterns used by many squads.

You will work hands-on in critical code paths, lead multi-region resilience efforts, and mentor other engineers while balancing long-term impact with practical delivery.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in Platform, Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with multi-team ownership.
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Istio, and IaC at meaningful scale.
• Track record of leading complex, multi-quarter programs from architecture to execution.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-quarter platform initiatives and align with long-term strategy across orgs.
• Define architectural patterns and platform primitives used by multiple teams.
• Lead hands-on technical work, debugging production incidents and hardening tooling.
• Coordinate cross-team rollouts and anticipate blockers to keep programs on track.
• Own end-to-end testing strategy, from iteration environments to multi-service validation.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers to raise the technical bar across the org.
• Drive large-scale infrastructure consolidations with cost awareness and stakeholder communication.
• Define metrics to prove platform value and adoption for leadership.
