Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Developer Experience team in the United States. You will own Yahoo’s enterprise Node.js environments, runtimes, containers, and reusable CI/CD workflows, while advancing automation and documentation to improve maintainability.

You’ll work across security, OS, container, and AI tooling teams, applying cutting-edge tooling like Claude, Cursor, and Copilot to boost productivity for multiple engineering groups.

Qualifications

• Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript skills; Python/Go a plus.
• Experience with shared developer platforms and runtimes.
• Linux, container and CI/CD expertise; release management.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub/GitLab and modern SCM practices.
• Familiar with AI tools like Claude, Cursor, Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Own Node.js runtimes lifecycle, releases and deprecation plans.
• Build/maintain Node.js packages, images, integrations, releases.
• Develop/maintain reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows.
• Monitor updates, security patches and dependency changes.
• Troubleshoot runtime/build/container/dependency issues.
• Automate maintenance, testing, release validation tasks.
• Collaborate with security, OS, container and app teams.
• Support GitHub Enterprise & GitLab Enterprise services.
• Leverage AI tools to boost productivity and automation.
• Document operations and communicate releases clearly.
