Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Developer Infrastructure group. This role focuses on core developer infrastructure such as CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.

You will own services end to end, mentor engineers, and partner with multiple teams to improve build speed, safety, and observability. Strong distributed systems experience, ownership mindset, and proficiency with Go or similar languages are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong ownership from design through production of backend/platform services.
• Focus on reliability, security, and observability in large-scale systems.
• Clear communicator who drives projects across multiple teams.
• Experience in developer infrastructure or platform domains (CI/CD, build tools, test infra).
• Skilled with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform and containerized apps.
• Familiarity with Datadog and performance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
• Improve engineering productivity metrics: build time, deploy speed, and test feedback quality.
• Own services end to end, including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations.
• Partner with Coinbase teams to translate pain points into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them into production.
• Mentor engineers and shape the platform's technical direction.
