Coinbase, Inc. is hiring Software Engineers for the Developer Infrastructure group responsible for building and operating core platform services used by all Coinbase engineers.

You will own end-to-end components from design through testing, deployment, and on-call support in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment. Qualifications

• Proven experience building and running production software in distributed systems.
• Experience shipping backend/platform features with ownership from start to production.
• Focus on reliability, security, and observability in code and operations.
• Strong communication and ability to drive scoped projects with little guidance.
• Customer-focused mindset measuring impact on other engineers.
• Exposure to CI/CD, build systems, deployment tooling, or test infra.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or containers.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog and performance tuning.
• Responsible AI usage with human oversight for workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and operate core developer-infrastructure services that are fast and secure.
• Improve metrics like build/CI wall time, deploy speed, and test feedback time.
• Own components end-to-end from implementation to monitoring and on-call rotation.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code with observability baked in.
• Collaborate with Coinbase engineering teams to translate pain points into platform improvements.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and drive own work items to completion.
• Share knowledge and raise the quality bar through thoughtful code reviews.
