Job summary

Coinbase is hiring Senior Software Engineers for Developer Infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate core services spanning CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure. You’ll improve deploy speed, reliability, and observability, owning modules end-to-end and guiding cross-team platform improvements.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate across engineering teams, and work in a remote-first company with quarterly in-person surges to accelerate impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Proven ownership from design to production of backend/platform systems.
• Strong focus on reliability, security, and observability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with developer infrastructure or platforms (CI/CD, build systems, release tooling).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
• Improve engineering productivity metrics: build time, deploy speed, safety, test feedback quality.
• Own services end to end: architecture, observability, SLOs, on-call operations.
• Partner with Coinbase teams to translate pain points into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them to production.
• Mentor engineers and shape platform technical direction.
