Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to provide senior technical analysis and supervision on projects. You will establish task schedules, coordinate across disciplines, and serve as a technical liaison with clients, delivering design calculations, piping system reviews, and major specifications.

You will lead complex reports and support engineering design with focus on ASME B31.1 and BPV III compliance, piping supports, and advanced analysis.

Qualifications

• MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, ABET-accredited program, emphasis on solid mechanics and finite element analysis.
• Five or more years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements design and selection.
• Experience with ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical ADPL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex calculations; provide technical guidance to project team.
• Prepare and review piping system/structural designs for completeness, accuracy, constructability, operability.
• Perform engineering reviews of drawings and input; coordinate interface between design and engineering.
• Prepare and review system, installation, and material specifications; schedule vendor submittals.
• Prepare bid evaluations and participate in vendor negotiations; evaluate change orders.
• Prepare and review single-discipline and multi-discipline reports to ensure sound conclusions.
