Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineer to lead technical direction on piping analyses for nuclear and fossil projects.

You will review complex calculations, supervise project teams, and ensure designs meet ASME codes and client requirements. Strong communication and expertise with AutoPIPE, PIPESTRESS, ANSYS Workbench, and pipe supports are valued.

Qualifications

BS/MS in mechanical or related ABET-accredited program with emphasis in solid mechanics and finite element analysis.
10+ years of relevant piping engineering experience.
Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
Knowledge of pipe supporting elements and commercially available piping products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Reviews complex calculations and approves simple calculations.
Reviews and approves system/structural designs for completeness, accuracy and operability.
Performs engineering review of drawings and defines client expectations for drawings.
Coordinates interface between design and engineering and participates in design reviews.
Prepares and reviews major system, installation and material specifications and vendor submittals.
Prepares bid evaluations and may evaluate change orders on behalf of the client.
