Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior piping engineer in Reston, VA to provide technical direction on piping system analyses and design. You will guide project teams, ensure code compliance, and contribute to client deliverables across complex systems.

Responsibilities include reviewing calculations, developing designs, and coordinating multi-discipline reviews while ensuring quality and operability. 10+ years of experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics/finite element analysis.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements design and application.
• Working knowledge of piping products and their application.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical direction and supervise project team members.
• Coordinate activities between disciplines and manage schedules/budgets.
• Review and approve complex calculations and designs for accuracy and constructability.
• Prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications.
• Participate in bid evaluations and vendor submittals.
• Produce and review single-discipline and multi-discipline reports and studies.
