Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks aSenior Piping Engineer to provide technical direction on piping projects in our Knoxville office. The role involves leading project teams, performing complex analyses, and ensuring compliance with ASME B31.1 and BPV Section III across a range of piping systems.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience, a PE license, and a proven track record in design reviews, system specifications, and vendor coordination in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• 20+ years of relevant piping engineering experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements and piping product applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers provide senior technical direction and supervise project teams.
• Review complex calculations and approve simple calculations.
• Review and approve simple and complex system/structural designs.
• Perform engineering review of drawings and define client expectations.
• Prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications.
• Prepare bid evaluations and participate in vendor Negociations.
• Prepare and review multi-discipline reports ensuring sound conclusions.
