Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineer for a hybrid Knoxville-based role. The position involves leading project teams, directing technical work, and ensuring compliance with ASME B31.1, BPV Section III, and related codes.

You will guide clients, manage budgets, and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities. The role emphasizes drawing reviews, calculations, and design accountability, with opportunities to mentor others and contribute to innovative solutions in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of relevant experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements and piping products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical direction and supervision to project teams.
• Coordinate activities between disciplines and manage schedules/budgets.
• Lead engineering reviews, calculations, and designs for complex systems.
• Prepare and review specifications, vendor submittals, and bid evaluations.
• Review single-discipline and complex reports to ensure clarity and quality.
