Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our Chicago, Illinois office, with consideration for multiple locations including Indianapolis, IN and Holland, MI. You will deliver pipeline solutions across mining, oil & gas, and water sectors, working with global teams.

You will design across lifecycle, support field investigations, permitting, and client communications, and travel up to 25% as project demands dictate.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering degree.
• 5–7 years of pipeline design experience.
• EIT registration; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192/195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWWA M11.
• Familiar with Pipeline Toolbox, AutoPIPE/CAESAR II, PipeFLO, and AFT Impulse.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and with teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Safely perform field and office work and operate company vehicles.
• Design pipelines across lifecycle including planning, FEED, routing, permitting, detail design, procurement, construction, and deactivation.
• Provide engineering support for routing studies, stress analysis, and mechanical design of liquid, gas and/or slurry pipelines.
• Coordinate field investigations and utility surveys in support of pipeline design.
• Coordinate engineering and survey services for ROW acquisition needs.
• Prepare project funding documents such as cost estimates, bid summaries, and approvals.
• Support client meetings and maintain responsive client relationships.
• Assist in permit package development and review of technical documents.
• Ensure project delivery complies with company procedures and quality plans.
