Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our Chicago office, with consideration for multiple listed locations including Detroit, MI and other Midwest sites. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver pipeline solutions for mining, oil & gas, and water sectors.

You will lead design across lifecycle stages, perform field and office work, coordinate surveys, and develop permit packages. Strong communication, safety focus, and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 5–7 years pipeline design experience in consulting or operating company.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of liquids and gas design codes including 49 CFR Part 192/195, ASME B31.4/31.8, AWWA M11.

Responsibilities

• Design pipelines across lifecycle: planning, FEED, permitting, detail design, procurement, construction.
• Support routing studies, stress analysis, and mechanical design of liquid, gas, slurry pipelines.
• Coordinate field investigations and right-of-way activities.
• Prepare cost estimates, bid summaries, and project documentation.
• Interface with clients and manage projects per company quality plans.
