Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to work out of our Chicago office with consideration for multiple locations. The role involves delivering pipeline solutions across the lifecycle for liquid, gas and slurry systems in mining, oil & gas, and water sectors.

You will collaborate with multidiscipline teams, perform field and office work, support feasibility studies, routing, permitting, and detailed design, while maintaining a strong safety focus and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering (ABET).
• 5–7 years pipeline design experience (consulting or operating company).
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192/195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWWA M11.
• Proficiency with Pipeline design software listed above.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform field and office work, including operating company vehicles.
• Design pipelines across lifecycle: planning, FEED, route selection, permitting, detail design, procurement, construction, demolition.
• Provide routing studies, stress analysis, and mechanical design for liquid, gas, and slurry systems.
• Coordinate field investigations, surveys, environmental/geotechnical studies as needed.
• Support right-of-way coordination, cost estimates, bid summaries, and authorization requests.
• Prepare proposals, technical reports, drawings, calculations, and client communications.
• Manage project delivery per company procedures and quality plans.
• Maintain client relationships through meetings, progress reports, and proposals.
