Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to work from the Chicago, IL office, with consideration for locations including Houston, TX. You will collaborate with global engineers on pipeline solutions for mining, oil & gas, and water sectors, contributing to planning, feasibility studies, permitting, and detailed design.

You will lead field investigations, coordinate surveys, prepare cost estimates, and support project delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–7 years pipeline design experience in consulting or operating company.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of liquids and gas design codes (49 CFR Part 192/195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWWA M11).
• Familiar with Pipeline Toolbox, AutoPIPE/CAESAR II, PipeFLO, AFT Impulse.

Responsibilities

• Design pipeline systems across lifecycle from planning to deactivation/demolition.
• Conduct field/site walks and coordinate surveys, environmental studies, and geotechnical work.
• Support routing studies, stress analysis, and detailed engineering design.
• Prepare cost estimates, equipment bid summaries, and reports for client review.
• Interact with clients and project teams to ensure on-time delivery per QA procedures.
