Job summary

WSP USA Inc is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our Chicago, IL office with consideration for multiple locations. You will design pipeline systems across lifecycle, support routing studies, and coordinate field investigations while interfacing with clients worldwide.

The role requires 5–7 years of pipeline design experience, EIT with PE preferred, familiarity with pipeline codes, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of pipeline design experience (consulting or operating company).
• EIT is required; PE is preferred.
• Knowledge of liquids and gas design codes and regulations (49 CFR Part 192 & 195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWWA M11).
• Familiar with Pipeline Toolbox, AutoPIPE/CAESAR II, PipeFLO, AFT Impulse.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized with strong time management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented client-service mindset.
• High integrity and strong work ethic.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform field and office work and operate vehicles for the company.
• Design pipelines across lifecycle: planning, FEED, route selection, permitting, detail design, procurement, construction.
• Provide engineering support for routing studies, stress analysis, and mechanical design of liquid, gas and slurry pipelines.
• Coordinate field investigations and surveys for pipeline projects.
• Prepare and review technical documents, proposals, reports, and cost estimates.
• Manage project delivery in line with company procedures and quality plans.
• Interacts with clients, prepares progress reports and maintains client relationships.
