Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal payroll tax notices, amendments, and corrections. The role focuses on resolution, mentoring junior staff, and building team capability while ensuring adherence to tax regulations.

The position requires expert knowledge of payroll tax rules, strong written communication, and the ability to manage end-to-end case lifecycles across multiple states. This is a remote, part-time role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Independent drafting of penalty abatement requests and agency response letters with full documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State payroll tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices and amend returns across multiple states.
• Prepare and file amended payroll tax returns (e.g., Form 941-X) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive end-to-end corrections.
