Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with a focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices and agency responses.
• Hands-on experience preparing and filing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State returns across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and related penalties and interest.
• Multi-state payroll tax expertise including local tax compliance across jurisdictions.
• Experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME, with training junior staff.
• Strong written communication for SOPs/KBs.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices, multi-quarter/state scenarios, and penalties.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and fix payroll tax errors across periods and jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving corrections and notices with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor team members; lead knowledge transfer.
