Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex payroll tax issues across Notices, Corrections, and Amendments. This remote role centers on end-to-end tax defect resolution, drafting agency responses, and sharing expertise with less experienced staff to elevate overall team capability.

The position emphasizes deep knowledge of federal/state payroll tax rules, Form 941-X/W-2c filings, and cross-functional collaboration across Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution for notice response and amended return preparation.
• Experience drafting penalty abatement requests and agency response letters.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices across multiple quarters and states, owning full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) end-to-end.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Correction, Amendment, and Notice requests with high accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Processors; share knowledge to build team capability.
