Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor who will serve as a senior payroll tax expert and SME, owning complex nationwide tax issues and mentoring junior staff. The role emphasizes crafting solutions for notices, amendments, and corrections, while building team capability and improving processes.

You will file amended returns across multiple states and support cross-functional tax teams. The position requires deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, state rules, and strong Excel skills, with a focus

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices.
• Experience preparing amended Federal/State payroll tax returns.
• Associate/Bachelor in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices across multiple states.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c).
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving correction and amendment requests.
• Coach and mentor Senior Payroll Tax Processors; conduct quarterly sessions.
• Develop SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring error patterns.
• Identify trends and communicate with stakeholders; drive resolutions.
