Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal payroll tax defect resolution, amendments, and notices. This role focuses on solving hard tax problems, building team capability, and improving processes for customers.

As a technical SME, you will mentor junior staff, own the most challenging cases, and collaborate across Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams while delivering accurate, compliant tax returns and high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focusing on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of federal/state payroll tax notice types with ability to draft agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) statewide.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, payroll tax deposit schedules and penalties.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended payroll tax returns (941-X, state equivalents) end-to-end.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and drive corrective workflows.
• Coach and mentor senior staff by conducting structured sessions and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams to resolve issues.
