Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor in Payroll Tax Operations to serve as a senior SME for end-to-end payroll tax issue resolution across notices, corrections, and amendments. The role combines technical leadership with mentoring junior staff and ownership of the most complex cases in the queue.

The position involves filing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns, multi-state coordination, and driving process improvements while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across notices, amendments, and corrections.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses with documentation.
• Experience preparing and approving amended Federal (941-X) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states, including PA, OH, etc.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices, owning full case lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across pay periods and jurisdictions; drive correction workflows.
