Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal payroll tax notices and amendments from intake through closure. The role emphasizes expert problem-solving, coaching peers, and building team capability while ensuring compliant, accurate tax filings.

The position focuses on defect resolution and process improvement for Notices, Corrections, and Amendments, enabling the team to deliver timely resolutions for customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution.
• Experience drafting penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Proficiency with Form 941-X and W-2c processes across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states end-to-end.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple periods and jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity in case resolution with high accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Processors and share knowledge.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
• Develop SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring issues for improvement.
