Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Payroll Manager in Marlborough, MA to serve as the payroll SME and lead all multi-state payroll operations in a dynamic environment.

This hands-on role oversees weekly, biweekly, and off-cycle payroll, ensures regulatory compliance, conducts audits, and drives system migrations, data integrity, and reporting. You will partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, IT, and business leaders to deliver accurate, timely payroll and an exceptional employee experience.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive payroll experience within a mid-sized corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience managing multi-state payroll operations.
• Experience leading or playing a significant role in a payroll platform migration or integration involving at least 500 employees.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations, wage-and-hour laws, payroll taxes, and employee benefit programs.
• Ability to work 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly, biweekly, and off-cycle payroll processing.
• Manage payroll team members and third-party service providers.
• Lead payroll system migrations and integrations, including planning, data validation, testing, issue resolution, and post-launch support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax requirements.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and provide timely reporting and analysis.
