Job summary

Alliance Health at Marie Esther in Marlborough, MA is seeking an on-site HR/Payroll Manager to oversee bi-weekly payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations for 75+ staff across a long-term care facility. The role works closely with Finance on labor distribution and maintains compliance across payroll processes.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 1–3 years of payroll experience, and strong Excel/Office 365 skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Paychex a plus.
• 1-3 years of progressive work experience in human resources and payroll operations.
• Prior experience with payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Experience working in a long-term care setting preferred but not required.
• Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate both in verbal and written communication.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of the full Office 365 suite.
• Works well independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll using Paychex for 75+ employees.
• Manage workers' comp claims and interact with claims adjuster.
• Coordinate labor distribution with Finance and record payroll expenses.
• Assist with payroll-related research and audits.
• Manage monthly accounts payable for the facility.
• Oversee benefit administration and open enrollment.
• Prepare ACA reports and PBJ filings.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee retention projects.
