Job summary

The role requires 5 years payroll experience and a strong knowledge of US payroll regulations; Workday experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years of insourced payroll experience.
• 5 years of multi-state payroll experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage MassMutual's multi-state payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate pay results.
• Prepare and audit payroll transactions (wage garnishments, tax withholding, deductions, off-cycle/payroll adjustments) for each cycle.
• Assist with system implementations, testing, and upgrades while staying current with Workday functionality.
• Participate in internal control testing and audits; provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Investigate and resolve employee payroll issues and inquiries; escalate complex matters with root-cause analysis.
• Resolve escalations with corrective actions for non-routine situations affecting employees and management.
• Evaluate and improve payroll processes, procedures, and tools to enhance the customer experience.
• Cross-train across the team to provide backup support during absences.
