Job summary

VGS, a leader in payment tokenization and trusted by Fortune 500s, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments Acceptance team. You will design, scale, and fortify high-throughput payment systems with zero downtime, owning VAS like Network Tokens and Account Updater.

You will collaborate with Tech Leads, Product Management, and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, and observable services at 10,000+ TPS, embracing AI-native engineering and agentic SDLC practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Experience with Java microservices and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with cloud-native containers and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with security and compliance (PCI-DSS, SOC2).
• Growth mindset and high agency in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Build mission-critical Payments Acceptance services and VAS components.
• Integrate AI-native tooling into the SDLC and automate workflows.
• Implement automated, self-healing services with GitOps and IaC.
• Develop observability and runbooks; participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and drive high code quality and testing standards.
