Job summary

VGS seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments Acceptance team. You will design, scale, and fortify global, high-throughput payment systems and own Value-Added Services such as Network Tokens and Account Updater.

You will collaborate with tech leads, product teams, and platform squads, applying AI-native engineering techniques to deliver reliable, secure software at 10,000+ TPS with minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Strong Java ecosystem experience, Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging (Kafka, SQS).
• Cloud-native delivery using Docker/Kubernetes in AWS or similar.
• Solid security and compliance fundamentals in production systems.
• Proactive, autonomous engineers who drive quality and velocity.

Responsibilities

• Build mission-critical payments services with high availability and low latency.
• Drive AI-native engineering and agentic workflows in the SDLC.
• Automate resiliency and self-healing services using GitOps and CI/CD.
• Enhance observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Mentor engineers and promote high code quality and testing.
• Own service functionality end-to-end for external traffic and internal adoption.
