Job summary

VGS in New York, NY is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to architect agentic payment infrastructure and secure, scalable APIs. You will shape cryptographic workflows, token provisioning, and purchase intents within a global payments platform.

You will lead adoption of AI-enabled development, collaborate across Product, Security, Infra, and external partners, and contribute to an always-on, compliant payments system with high reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years owning outcomes in large-scale distributed systems.
• Security and compliance are built into engineering decisions.
• Experience with AWS, IaC, and modern orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect Agentic Payment Infrastructure with Python 3.13+ and FastAPI.
• Define APIs and models for enrollment, provisioning, mandates, and cryptograms.
• Own security, reliability, and scale for sensitive payment workflows.
