Job Summary

Location: Charlotte, NC 28262

Work mode: Hybrid

Pay rate: $54.40/hr

Duration: 6 month contract with potential conversion

Overview: This role supports enterprise payment initiatives within a leading financial services environment and offers the chance to work on meaningful payment modernization projects that impact business operations, technology delivery, and customer-facing financial processes.

The Senior Payments Business Analyst will join a growing, collaborative team that values strong communication, thoughtful analysis, and partnership across business and technology groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project partners.
• Create user stories, process documentation, business requirements, and functional documentation to support Agile delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements for payment-related initiatives.
• Support payment modernization efforts across enterprise platforms, systems, and operational workflows.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 3-5 years of Business Analyst experience.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Financial services industry background.
• Strong ability to gather requirements, document business needs, and translate business objectives into actionable user stories.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and support cross‑functional project execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ACH payments.
• Experience with SWIFT messaging.
• Knowledge of wire transfers.
• Familiarity with ISO20022.
• Experience with electronic payments.
• Treasury operations knowledge.
