Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Scheduling Representative at Westwood Medical Pavilion – West. This experienced scheduler coordinates and schedules appointments across departments, answers calls, and supports the clinical team to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Primary duties include registration, insurance verification, referrals, use of EPIC EMR, and coordinating with providers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with healthcare scheduling experience preferred.
Proven knowledge of EPIC EMR scheduling or other scheduling systems.
Experience in registering patients, insurance verification, and referrals.

Responsibilities

Responds to high volume of incoming calls with accurate scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
Registers patients prior to visit with demographics, insurance verification, document scanning, and referrals.
Educates patients on medical records needed for appointments and scheduling.
Schedules referral appointments for external offices and transmits records using Beacon.
Completes daily reminder calls and assists with charge audits as directed.
Prepares patient charts and coordinates calendars within the scheduling system.
Maintains knowledge of scheduling guidelines and EMR systems to ensure accuracy.
Floats across scheduling teams as needed and supports department operations.
