Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA, is seeking a patient-facing receptionist/revenue cycle associate to provide top-notch customer service to patients and guests. You will explain insurance benefits, collect payments, and support registration and scheduling throughout the patient’s medical journey.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in healthcare or related customer service, a High School diploma (Associates preferred), and CHAM/CHAA or Medical Assistant credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associates preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, revenue cycle, or related customer service environment.
• Certifications in CHAM, CHAA, or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Must have computer and data entry skills; proficient with Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and guests, and communicate throughout their medical experience.
• Handle daily operations: collect data for charges/claims and process payments.
• Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles and self-pay portions.
• Research and resolve issues impeding registration and improve accuracy with team QA.
• Research and resolve complaints regarding customer service, registration, authorization or scheduling.
• Monitor productivity and accuracy and adapt communication to each patient population.
