Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA is seeking a detail-oriented, patient-focused team member to coordinate and schedule specialty referral appointments. The role includes handling appointment changes and outbound scheduling calls across clinical areas within the Medical Center.

You will manage inbound patient inquiries and support precepting for new staff, leveraging our scheduling systems and clinical workflows. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a customer service role using an electronic scheduling system.
• Minimum 1 year scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics.
• MS Excel experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
• Experience using office equipment (printer, copier, fax, scanner).
• Data entry and retrieval via computer.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Schedule specialty referral appointments and modify appointments as needed.
• Provide outbound call center services across clinical areas.
• Handle inbound calls from patients seeking medical services.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff.
