Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health seeks a customer service focused scheduling specialist to support its specialty referral operations. You will manage outbound and inbound calls, schedule and adjust appointments, and act as a preceptor for new staff within the Medical Center.

The role requires at least one year in a high-volume scheduling environment, proficiency with Epic/Quest, and excellent English communication. Strong teamwork across the Health System is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.)
• Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics
• Experience with MS Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Responsibilities

• Schedule specialty referral appointments and modify appointments as needed.
• Provide outbound call center services across clinical areas.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff.
